The Oil City (Takoradi) is represented strongly by two Artists in the musical realms who have broken boundaries and adding their names to the hit makers in the country. Castro and Nhyiraba Kojo, born bred Takoradi Artists have successfully gained the lips of Ghanaians along their songs.
Unfortunately, these two ‘Westsiders’ are not on good terms, rumour mill spews. On several interview platforms, Nhyiraba Kojo is slippery in swerving the question as to whether he and Castro are on good terms. On Top Radio where the Hiplife Designer (Nhyiraba Kojo) was on a segment with Ohemaa, the Presenter asked if it is true he is not in good terms with Castro. Unconvincingly, Nhyiraba Kojo explained that, they grew up together in the same house for almost 9 years so they are strongly bonded.
On another platform, Pasino, who hosts Prime FM’s Local Chat Show poked the question as to whether Nhyiraba Kojo and Castro are in hostile terms. Nhyiraba Kojo in his usual swerves, escaped from the grips of the question.
The rumour mill has it that, anytime there is a verbal exchange in any of the two’s songs, it is directed to the other. Others have mentioned a lot of songs where both Artists have ‘dissed’ each other. “This misunderstanding is not a recent one, it is even more than 5 years, I’m sure” a source close to the two disclosed.
This reporter had been following on this ‘beef’ between Castro and his ‘ex’ friend-brother, Nhyiraba Kojo. At Macho Rapper and Friends Party which was organized at the Tema branch of Vienna City, the two met vis-a-vis where the pleasantry exchanges were not a friendly one. At the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Artists were conveyed from the State House to the Auditorium in a shuttle and fortunately-unfortunately, the two met there as well. Vividly, no one would describe the type of relationship between them if that was put on video.
What the root of the hostility is, Nhyiraba Kojo seems not to want to explain to www.233times.net. Several attempts have been made to get the details of it but none of them would want to talk about it. www.233times.net on several attempts contacted Castro on the phone but the number is always busy or out of reach. Nhyiraba Kojo in a face to face refused to explain to this reporter what it is that cannot be settled.
For the promotion of Oil City (Takoradi) and helping the amateur talents gain the lime light to battle the other Regions, better relationship between them would be the answer. Though Castro has made the attempt in featuring the Up and Coming rappers of the Region in two (2) songs which is a very laudable move, the strength of the Region would be gained back musically if the two settle their differences.

the western region is endowed with great musical talents which needs to be unearthed for the region to be seen in the world of music. the situation where some artistes from the region are at loggerheads is uncalled for. the region has over the years produced a number of artistes both in the areas of gospel music and secular entertainment but there is still a problem when it comes to producing and management of artiste. i will urge these two well-known artistes to settle their differences and help promote the westside legacy agenda.Forson-PRESTEA.
