Ghanaians will visit the polls in December to either maintain the ruling party or replace it another political party. Just as Ghana have witnessed some neighbor countries wallow in brutalities as the aftermath of elections have shown frowning face on them, most people in the country are showing excessive care; forwarding words of peace among the citizenry.
Most celebrities have added their voices to caution politicians, foot soldiers and party supporters to stay in tune with decent campaigns to avoid insinuations that will attract violence from the other sides. Among such celebrities whose voice have trumpet across the country is the sensational extra ordinary singer, Quarme Zaggy. The ‘Just the two of us’ Cape Coast Polytechnic old student, speaking to this reporter emphasized that, the rate at which politicians are going with their verbal attacks on each other is getting out of hand.
As a patriotic citizen, whose voice makes an impact among thousands of fans in and outside the country, Quarme Zaggy earlier this month (April) released a song which speaks volumes on peace. ‘Ye hia Odo’ as he titles the peace song is trending on the social media and receiving massive play on the radio stations in and out of Ghana.
In an exclusive interview with www.233times.net, Quarme Zaggy posited that, he will not leave his peaceful election campaign ‘cry’ on just the ‘Ye hia odo’ release but will run extra, to have a tour which will visit the whole country with his friends in the industry. The tour, dubbed, ‘Kwame Ghana’ which will make a maiden stop in the colonial capital, Cape Coast, in August, will have every part of the country ‘preached’ to.
Showing more concern, Quarme Zaggy added that, “Let us all show concern and tell all around us to care about the country first before any political party. Ghana is bigger than any political party or any flagbearer, the political heads will lead the country not the political party when they win so let everyone support the ‘Kwame Ghana’ tour in preaching a peaceful election 2012”
