President Attah Mills is DEAD!

A very sad news reaching www.233times.net is that the president of the republic of Ghana just died at the 37 Military hospital. The president died after a long battle with illness in recent times.

Prof John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills was born on 21st July 1944 and was Sixty Eight-years-old (68-years-old).He was the third and current President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana and was inaugurated on the 7th of January 2009.

Before he became president, he was the vice president of the country from 7th January, 1997 – 2001 under the then President Jerry John Rawlings. He however stood for the presidency on two occasions, thus in 2000 and 2004 and lost on both occasions. He was successful on his third bid for presidency in 2008 and won this time.

This is the press statement from the office of the president signed by John Henry Martey Newman (Chief of Staff)

Prior to his death, there were rumours of his death which he debunked by giving a public statement to the media, after which he went to the USA for a routine medical checkup until June 25th, 2012.
Luck was not on his side this time around and had to kick the bucket. This is however the first time a sitting president of the republic of Ghana died naturally.

Moreover, his vice, Hon John Dramani Mahama would be sworn in as the new president of the country as demanded by the constitution of the republic of Ghana.

Our heartfelt condolences goes to his family and the entire nation of Ghana, may his soul rest in perfect peace.God be with us.Amen
