There was a story in last week that Wiz Kid was upset about Ghanaian artiste DXD copying his style which sparked a lot of controversy as to who was really the best of talent and as we speak the controversy is still ongoing. However,
DXD and his Label 360 Degrees finally decided to speak on the issue in an exclusive interview with www.233times.net.
DXD admits he has no intention of sounding like Whiz Kid, the fact that he is able to hit the high notes that whiz kid hits doesn’t mean his trying to copy him. I just go with the flow. When my beats are played on high notes, I don’t give excuses for the keys to be dropped I just hit the note. And when the songs notes are down I hit it same way, so my style varies depending on how the beat sounds. And I believe that’s what being artistic all is about. However, my compositions are well organized, thought of and different from Whiz Kids. So I don’t see where this is going says DXD. DXD admitted that the only time he listens to a whiz kid song is when it’s being shown on TV and he also admitted that the kind of music he listens to is miles apart from the kind of music he does. So for someone to claim he’s copying Whiz kid’s style is simply ridiculous. DXD told us in the interview that he is blessed beyond all this Whiz kid Hype, and that he’s a musical cocktail, and he doubles as a rapper and a singer and lyrically gifted as well, it’s just a matter of time for Ghana and the rest of the world to find out what he is made of and may be just after that, music lovers and fans would start to compare him to very great music legends in the world and not Whiz kid.
DXD, However, told us that he doesn’t do Ghanaian biased music, he always writes his songs or go into the studio with one intention, and that’s to do music that can have a global appeal and that may be the reason why he’s style of music is quite unusual from what’s been done here, he admits, his style is a blend of English, Ghanaian pidgin, a bit of patua and American slangs and a mixture of any of the Ghanaian dialects depending on his mood in order for anybody in any part of the world to easily relate to. And that the flea he uses in singing is actually, a northern flea and not the Nigerian flea or a Nigerian that people mistaken him for.
The world is yet to witness the best of me, if not already and for Whiz kid, I respect his game the future holds a lot of surprises so don’t be surprised if me and him drop a “collabo” before long, anything can happen let’s just keep our fingers crossed for the unexpected.
Signed
DXD
