Can Keche’s ‘Body Lotion’ Retain the Hit Title like ‘Aluguntugui’?

“Wei di3 Alungutugui ……” this phrase has been the mantra of most music lovers throughout 2012. Keche, the duo which comprises Kechepa and Kechede ‘smooched’ the ears of Ghanaians with their ‘fruit song’, making them feature on many big gigs last year.

The new song from the camp of Spyderlee Entertainment, ‘BODY LOTION’ is creeping into homes making the name Keche consistent hit title holders. Undisputedly, ‘Alungutugui’ was a hit mehhhn! Though some criticisms surround the lyrical content of the song, no Ghanaian can mention that, he did not dance to the fruit song.

‘Body Lotion’ which hardly skips the playlist of Radio Presenters and Club DJ’s can now be mentioned among the top 15 hit tracks in the country. The tempo of the song which is similar to the previous hit song has not more than 5 words in the chorus, making it their trend of chorus.

This year’s Ghana Music Awards holds enormous awards for the imbalanced height duo, this reporter is confident. Analyzing the performance of Keche in 2012, there will be no raise of eye brows if they are awarded Artist of the year in April’s Music Awards.

Can ‘Body Lotion’ retain Keche on big gigs? Can ‘Body Lotion’ outpace the success of ‘Aluguntugui’? Can ‘Body Lotion’ still make Keche a name to battle with in 2013? Can ‘Body Lotion’ make Keche headliners? The answers reside in the competition that this year (2013) will bring.
