“I don’t Treat Sarkodie special Than Other Artists; I treat all of them equally” Sound Engineer Possi Gee

Awal Alhassan known in the Showbiz as Possi Gee is arguably one of the best and respected Sound Engineers of contemporary Showbiz. The Tema based Engineer is noted to be behind most of the hit songs of Great Musicians in Africa at large.

The Sound Engineer (Possi Gee) who doubles as a humanitarian and is the Architect of Awal’s Children of The Future Foundation (ACOTF) is rumoured to be giving Michael Owusu (Sarkodie) a fringe treatment than most beneficiary Songsters of his Studio. This rumour had circulated among Artists who patronizes his Community 1 based studio.

In an interview with www.233times.net this reporter poked Possi Gee with the question “Is it true you treat Sarkodie better than Other Artists?” In his response, the Sound Engineer who is praised to have a generous heart paused for some seconds and smiled after which he responded aggressively, “It’s not true, I don’t treat Sarkodie special than other Artists; I treat all equally. All Artists who have been here will tell you how they all receive the same treat”

Looking more surprised as to where this rumour originated from, Possi Gee recounted that, “R2Bees, Ruff and Smoth, Tiffany, Samini among others come here to record anytime the place is free and we have same working conditions” Possi Gee added. “Efya was here sometime back and we recorded 6 songs in the night. Will you say I also treat her better than others?”Possi Gee asked.

“I record both Tema and Accra based Artists which is something rare lately in the Industry because some Artists don’t want to record with certain Engineers because of this Accra and Tema division. This makes me one of the few Engineers doing that and this makes me welcome all Artists not only a selected few so I treat all Artists equally” Possi Gee defended further.

Perhaps Sarkodie being the pioneer Artist of the MOB studios deserves some 20% fringe benefit from his god-engineer who recorded him when he was striving hard to get money for recordings. Sarkodie in his song ‘Tema Life’ recounts how things have been tough mentioning that, he was eating ‘gari-soakings’ with Possi Gee back in the years when they weren’t even known in their 450 populated Community.
