Credible information reaching our medium indicates that beautiful and eloquent senior Actress Amanorbea Dodoo has been hospitalized with stroke.
According to Peacefmonline.com sources the actress, who showed no sign of sickness or stroke attack woke up in the wee hours of Thursday April 18, 2013 to go to thewashroom only to realize that she can’t move.
The actress tried as hard as she could but unfortunately she couldn’t because half of her body was virtually ‘dead’ to any feelings or movement. She was rushed to the hospital and doctors have diagnosed her to be suffering from partial stroke.
The actress, who is known for mostly playing the role of a mother or a matured woman in most of the movies she stars in, is presently on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Medical block responding to treatment. However, at the time of this report the actress was still confined in her sick bed as she has still not been able to move one part of her body.
“It has affected her right side but the doctors say there is a lot of hope for her to recover. All she needs now is our prayers” a source close to the actress told Peacefmonline.com.
She got her first role in a movie titled ‘Suzie’, the first movie with ghosts in Ghana. Later, she appeared as lead actress in number of other movies in the early 90s including ‘Sergeant Abrebese’, ‘Meeba’ with Sidiku Buari, ‘Child @ 6:30’, ‘Heart of Gold’ by Kofi Yerenkyie, and ‘Twin Lovers’ which was her last movie before leaving for the US in 1995.
She moved back to Ghana in 2007 and did a TV series titled ‘Remnant’. Her first movie after her return was ‘King Is Mine’. That was followed by ‘Material Girls’, ‘Dons Of Sakawa’, ‘Who Owns The City’ ‘Chelsea’, ‘Turn me on’, ‘Death after birth’ and a number of others which are not yet out.
The last movie she acted in before this unfortunate incident was Yvonne Nelson’s co-produced movie “House of Gold” in which she played the role of the family lawyer. The last time she was seen in public was during the premiere of “House of Gold” at the National Theater on Friday April 12, 2013.
