The 2012 Presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said he is very optimistic that the 2012 election Petition which is currently on-going will not last long as he is expecting a speedy resolution to settle objections against the Electoral Commission (EC) and the ruling NDC of election rigging.
“As the hearings start I look forward to a speedy resolution of the case and the deepening of our democratic process,” he posted on his Facebook wall.
According to him, though the hearing has just begun, he hopes the nine panel judges hearing the case will have the bravery and strong cognizance to rule the case without any meddling.
“I believe in the legal process and I pray for courage and a clear mind for all the judges and lawyers and officers of the court,” he said.
Nana Addo however shared his view on the historic live telecast of the 2012 election petition that has raised hullabaloos among the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) as well as the general public.
“I trust that the live broadcast will bring understanding and greater acceptance of the Supreme Court’s work and decisions. Good luck to all,” he said.
