“There are pastors whose programmes I will attend, but not TB Joshua” Rev Owusu Bempah

images (3)The founder and leader of Glorious Word Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu- Bempah has declared that he will never attend a service organized by Nigerian Prophet Temitope Balogun (T.B.) Joshua, head of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) because he is not a better man of God than he is.

Rev Owusu Bempah says he is selective in the programmes he chooses to attend, but insists “before God and man (he) will never go to TB Joshua’s programme.”

“There are pastors whose programmes I will attend, but not TB Joshua. I say there are equally good men of God in Ghana like Eastwood Anaba, Ampiah Kwofi, Apostle Annor and others. Even in Nigeria there are people who don’t regard him as a man of God, but I am not condemning him. Let us be happy with what we have in Ghana” he declared.

Rev Owusu Bempah made the declaration on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show of Wednesday May 8, 2013, while commenting on the chaotic traffic situation created on the Spintex road yesterday when the Nigerian prophet visited the main Ghana branch of his church.

Motorists were stuck in traffic for hours as men, women and children scrambled and jostled each other to reach the church. Journalists also had their share of the discomfort, with reporters and camera men from Multi TV and Net 2 TV were locked up for hours by security men hired for the occasion. They were later rescued by a Police MTTU team.

Answering a question posed by show host Adakabri Frimpong Manso about the quality of prophets in Ghana, Rev Bempah said:“If T.B Joshua is good, then me Owusu Bempah, I can be bold and say that Ghana has very good prophets. But its not everything we can say in public, somebody might misconstrue it. But before God and man, I will never go and watch T.B Joshua or attend his programme. Over my dead body. There are Pastors whose programmes I will attend, but not T.B Joshua.”
“I’m not surprised that people are rushing to see him. I know of Ghanaian pastors who get the same reception when they go to Nigeria.”

He wondered why Ghanaians were quick to believe and pray when Prophet TB Joshua prophesied that there would be fires and deaths, including the death of Prof John Atta Mills, but the same Ghanaians – including renowned ‘men of God’ – insulted and denigrated him (Rev Bempah) when he gave a similar prophesy less than a year later.

Prophet Owusu Bempah expressed mingled surprise and sadness that renowned men of God such as Rev Agyin Asare publicly condemned him when he announced his prophesy but have now formed a prayer group to pray for the President.

While describing him as someone he respects a lot and was called to the Ministry before him, he had a piece of advice for Rev Agyin Asare:
“If he believes he is a man of God, he is not a better man of God than me or anybody else. We were all called by God. If he says he is a healer, I will advise him to concentrate on healing. God has given everybody a talent. He says he is a healer, he should concentrate on that. He is not the only healer. If I say something that you believe is not right, you don’t stand in public and condemn; you call the person and find out what the person is saying. He is not a better man of God than anybody.”
