Zinedine Zidane and Paul Clement have been confirmed as Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant coaches at Real Madrid for next season.
It was heavily speculated that former Madrid midfielder Zidane would be named on the bench alongside the newly-arrived Ancelotti, having requested so over the position of sporting director to President Florentino Perez.
At Ancelotti’s presentation to the media today as Madrid boss, it was confirmed that the 41-year-old will be one of two assistants to the Italian, with Englishman Paul Clement the other.
The former Chelsea Coach follows Ancelotti across from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
At his presentation today, Ancelotti reflected on Zidane’s appointment: “He was a fantastic player and he has decided to take a coaching role.
“I am happy to work with him, he has experience.
“He will be a very good assistant, alongside those that I normally work with.”
Giovanni Mauri will also join the technical team as a fitness Coach.
