Correction, No more Ursula Owusu; now Mrs.Mrs. Ekuful : Ursula weds secretly

51456277.295Even before the Justices of Supreme Court make a determination on the reliefs being sought by the petitioners led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the former Abuakwa South legislator has lost one of his dearest confidant, Ursula Owusu, who is reported to have surreptitiously sneaked to the United Kingdom to tie the knot with a secret lover she had dated for two years.

14005149According to a reliable source, Madam Ursula Owusu, who until the marriage was reported to have been secretly engaged in an undefined relationship with Nana Akufo-Addo, got wedded to a Ghanaian based UK ophthalmologist, Sam M. Ekuful.

The marriage ceremony, the source revealed took place at a hideout in the Queens land to avoid the former Foreign Affairs Minister from getting wind of it, a ceremony the source alleged would have been called off if Nana Addo had been hinted.

Information gathered by this paper indicates that, Sam M. Ekuful, a Fante by birth, and a strong financier of the activities of the UK/Ireland branch of the New Patriotic Party is said to have had a brush with Nana Akufo-Addo on several occasions all because of Ursula Owusu.

“The marriage ceremony took place here in the UK in the presence of some few and trusted relatives, but soon after the wedding, the bride and groom travelled to Sintra, a suburb of Lisbon in Portugal for their honeymoon to avoid being traced by close allies of Nana Addo,” the source added.

The pomp and pageantry that usually characterize wedding ceremonies involving public figures of Ursula’s caliber was conspicuously missing during Mr. and Mrs. Ekuful’s wedding because the brain behind the wedding, one Mokowa Blay Adu-Gyamfi, said to be a leading member of the NPP based in UK admonished that, Nana Akufo-Addo could throw a monkey wrench into the wedding if he gets to know of it, the source said.

64547129Ursula Owusu’s indeterminate relationship with Nana Addo is an affiliation many friends of both political figures are reported to have said dated back to the days when the latter was a special assistant to Nana Addo at the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General, in former President Kufuor’s administration.

According to our source, Mr. Ekuful and Madam Ursula have been lovers since 2011 to the extent that few days to Mr. Ekuful’s departure for the UK in January 2011, Ursula supposedly organized a send off party for him at East Legon.

“In the course of the party, Nana Addo and some of his guys stormed the party grounds to the bewilderment of Ursula… that day Ursula whispered to a friend that who had invited Nana Addo to the party… the party was brought to an abrupt end when Nana Addo demanded to know who Mr. Ekuful was” the source alleged.

This reporter gathered that because the first send off party was disrupted by the presence of Nana Akufo-Addo, Ursula soon after organized another secret party at Villagio to see off her lover.

Our information is that family members of Mr. Ekuful had warned him to stay off Ursula for obvious reasons, but the UK based ophthalmologist stood his grounds, swearing heaven and earth to win her at all cost, something he seemed to have succeeded in doing.

Interestingly, Mokowa Blay Adu-Gyamfi, a known aficionado of Nana Akufo-Addo, who according to our sources would have been nominated as Ghana’s ambassador to the UK if the former NPP leader had won the 2012 election, planned the whole wedding and even, purportedly, advised that it should be organized at a hideout to prevent a repeat of the 2011 unfortunate incident during the send off party for Mr. Ekuful.

Though The Al-Hajj has in its possession some of the wedding pictures, but cannot vouch for the claim that Nana Addo and Ursula Owusu had an intimate relationship, however, when the latter, now Mrs Ursula Ekuful was contacted, she politely averred “Why are you asking about Mr. Ekuful from me, you might be asking that for a reason? Anyway, I don’t discuss my relationship with my friends with Journalist.”

“You can ask me questions relating to my businesses or politics, but if you ask me questions relating to my personal relationship with my friends, the answer you will get is, I don’t discuss my relationship with my friends with Journalist.”

It is of public knowledge that Madam Ursula Owusu who doubles as the MP for Ablekuma West constituency divorced her husband that she has a child with, under a circumstance that is not clearly known.

Indeed, in one of her public raving on Peace FM, she told stunned listeners: “I left my husband, no man left me. He is a responsible man thinking of himself somewhere and so the NDC people peddling rumors that I was out of my marriage because I had committed any immoral act should take note. I walked out of my marriage, and I am not prepared to sit here and disclose why, it is nobody’s business.”

Well known in Ghana’s political cycles as “the queen of foul language’ and as a devotee of Nana Akufo-Addo, the Ablekuma West MP was one of the ‘militants’ in the NPP who started the aggressive mobilization of party supporters in support of the party’s election petition.

At the initial stage of the petition hearing, Ursula Owusu was vociferous in heralding the claim that the last election was specially arranged to favor President Mahama; to the extent that, she referred to the president in a Ga jingle as “julor’ to wit “a thief”

Surprisingly, the foul mouth politician had abandoned Nana Akufo-Addo who is having sleepless nights to convince the Justices of the Supreme Court to overturn the verdict of the last election and declare him president.
