Gambian President Warns Obama and Foreign Leaders Over Homosexulaity Stance

images (13)In response to US President Obama’s call on African leaders’ to legalize gay marriage and for that matter homosexuality, Gambian PresidentYahya Jammeh has sent out a strong word of caution to homosexuals and all who promote it, especially leaders of foreign nations.

In a recent speech speech the President said, the act was anti-human and as such anyone who was caught in his country practicing that would not be pardoned.

Reacting to calls by some foreign leaders for Gambia to legalize homosexuality, Mr. Jammeh said:

“If you are to give us aid for men and men or for women and women to marry, leave it. We Don’t need your aid because as far as I am the President of the Gambia, you will never see that happen in this country.”

The President is largely known as one who detest the practice and encouragement of homosexuality having declared the act illegal in Gambia and threatened very harsh punishment against those who practised it in his country.

President Yahya Jammeh took power as a young military leader in 1994 and became President through a democratic election in 1996 then re-elected in 2001 and in 2011.
