National Women’s Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Madam Anita De Soso has taken NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Hon Kennedy Agyapong to the cleaners describing him as one noted for spewing garbage.
The NDC National Executive’s bone of contention with Ken Agyapong had to do with comments made by the NPP MP on the one year anniversary of the death of the late President John Evans Atta.
The outspoken MP is reported to have said he can only remember late Professor Mills for overseeing corruption, load shedding and hypocrisy.
“I can’t remember late President Mills for anything [significant] but I’m sorry I have to say the truth, I can only remember him with corruption and dumsor-dumsor (load shedding) in his administration,” Kennedy Agyapong reportedly said on Adom FM.
He accused the late president of appointing the likes of Koku Anyidoho who spewed out vituperations and insults at political opponents, right under his (Mills’) nose, but he pretended nothing wrong was happening.
He further stated that it was hypocritical on the part of Ghanaians to pretend all was well under late President Mills’ government, urging that history writers chronicles both the good and bad sides of the late president.
“…it is necessary to point out his bad side for others to learn instead of just speaking about him as if he was an angel,” Ken Agyapong said.
But his remarks seemed to have incurred the wrath of the NDC firebrand, who, contributing to a panel discussion on Okay FM’s “Ghana Decides” afternoon political show, called for a special prayer session for the NPP MP. She reiterated that Ken Agyapong has carved for himself the image of a person who always insults elders and pastors in the country; pleading that God should forgive him for his unguarded utterances and behavior which he always exhibits.
“Ken Agyapong has gained the notoriety of churning out extraneous things…he needs deliverance from God…Ghanaians will always choose the late President Mills over him (Ken Agyapong) if the two are put on a measuring scale,” she said.
She impressed on the NPP MP to be more concerned about what words Ghanaians will use to eulogize him (Agyapong) at his funeral adding that she believes the biography of the Assin Central MP will perhaps read “disrespectful and always exhibiting arrogance”.
“…irrespective of one’s wealth, human beings cannot be bought or created with money; … the late President Mills was never involved in corruption as Ken. Agyapong wants Ghanaans to believe…even a staunch member of the NPP, Kwame Pianim attested to that,” the NDC National Women’s Organiser said.
Sounding quite confident of herself, Anita pointed out that the NPP firebrand cannot put up such behaviour in her presence, stressing that she “will silence him in his unguarded utterances if” she gets the “chance to debate him on the same platform”.
