The National Service Secretariat has hinted that there is a possibility of an increase in the allowance of service personnel.
According to the Director of Public Affairs of the Service, Ambrose Entsiwah, “we cannot rule out that possibility because, certainly this amount they are receiving now has been on for two years.
It is possible that we will do that.”
In an interview with Citi News, Mr. Entsiwah indicated that the specific amount to be allocated to service personnel will be announced when postings are over.
He however added that proposals to ensure the increase was effected had been tabled.
“Should everything go to plan, service personnel would be expected to start wotking by September 1.”
“Before or on the 30th of August, we hope that postings will be released so that national service personnel can start their service by the 1st of September.”
He also explained that personnel of the scheme would be engaged in government priority areas such as agriculture, health and education.
