I have no option but to accept Supreme Court verdict – Prez Mahama

President-John-MahamaPresident John Dramani Mahama says as the President of Ghana, he would have no option but to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court in the on-going Election 2012 Petition hearing.

He said the 1992 constitution prescribed adherence and obedience to the rules and regulations of the country and as a citizen he would respect every aspect of it.
President Mahama stated this when he called on Sheik Nuhu Sharabutu, the National Chief Imam, at his Fadama residence in Accra, Wednesday.
The programme was also attended by Muslim chiefs and Chief Imams from other districts in the Greater Accra Region.
President Mahama wished Muslims in the country a happy Eid-ul- Fitr slated for tomorrow and thanked them for their intercessory prayers that had united the country over the years and urged them to continue to peacefully co-exist with other faiths to promote peace and unity.
The President appealed to all prospective pilgrims to this year’s Hajj to work hard to meet all deadlines to avoid struggles as the Saudi government had reduced the slots for every country on account of certain renovations.
President Mahama said Ramadan is a month of zakat and generosity, hence government’s donation of food to all Muslims throughout the country.
Sheik Shuaib Aremayaw, who spoke on behalf of the National Chief Imam promised to say special prayers for the unity of the country, particularly before, during and after the Supreme Court verdict.
