John Boye to captain Black Stars’ International friendly against Japan

images (15)John Boye will lead Ghana against Japan in Tuesday’s friendly at the 70,000 capacity Yokohama International Stadium.

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah speaking at the pre-match conference on Monday confirmed that the Rennes defender will step in to captain the team in the absence of Asamoah Gyan.

Ghana, pushing for a third consecutive World Cup appearance play the Blue Samurai, who have already booked their place in next year’s finals in Brazil to prepare for their next round opponents.

The Black Stars are through to the final round of the continental qualifiers as their opponents for the decisive two-leg tie will be revealed a week today at a draw in Cairo, Egypt.
