While www.world-richest-man.com says the richest man in Ghana is Dr Sam Jonah, worth approximately $600 million, highstreetmail ranks Sam Jonah as the second richest man in Ghana with some 500 Million rather.
Sam Jonah is the executive chairman of Jonah Capital, a company with involvement in mineral resources, real estate, agriculture, finance as well as oil and gas in South Africa. He has also been President of AngloGold Ashanti, a global mining and marketing company, and was the Chief Executive of Ashanti Goldfields at a young age of 36.
highstreetmail says the richest Ghanaian is rather Doctor Kwame Addo-Kufuor worth some $1.2 billion. Dr. Addo-Kufuor is a former member of parliament for Manhyia, and from 2001 to 2007 he was the Minister for Defence under President John Kufuor, his brother. He is a top physician.

Dr. Nduom’s interests are managed by a Trustee. The investments include: Coconut Grove Hotels, First National Savings and Loans, Gold Coast Investments etc.

An engineer and a project analyst by training, he established his credentials as a banking and finance leader by heading and successfully restructuring two major banks in Ghana, the Bank for Housing and Construction and the National Investment Bank between 1979 and 1992. He has been a Consultant to the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the United Nations Development Programme. He is the past Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the West African Bankers Association, and a Committee or the West African Bankers Association, and a founding Deputy Chairman of the Ghana Stock Exchange. He has served as Chairman and a board member on a number of corporations including Nestle Ghana Limited, National Trust Holding Company, Merchant Bank Ghana Limited, National Development Planning Commission, Divestiture Implementation Committee and Donewell Insurance.

Dr. Kwaku Afriyie holds the credentials of being a former Western Regional 1st Vice-Chairman, Second National Vice Chairman, former Minister of Lands, Forestry and Mines and Minister of Health. Currently, he is the Board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Physician Consultant, operates his own clinic and is the owner of plantations of cocoa, oil palm and cola.

Kwadwo Adjei-Darko is a politician. He was the Minister of Mines back in the early 2000s, and as of 2008, he was the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment of Ghana and a Member of Parliament for the Sunyani West Constituency. He has done much work to facilitate rural development in Ghana, particularly with the mining of salt and diamonds.

Kofi Wayo was named Charles Eric Kofi Wayo at birth by his father Mr Kwashie Akakpo, a cocoa farmer and mother Dede Aku of Doryumu, near Somanya in the Eastern Region some 50 or so years ago. He had picked up a lot of interest in guns and so getting into the arms business was attractive to him. “I started by selling pistols and when I got my licence, I went into business with a policeman friend called Jameson and with $600 to start with we made about $260,000 a year.”
