Guiness Big Eruption Concert: Excellence and Mediocrity defined; Samini unanimously given Dancehall King?

images (1)It was heartache for most fans of Samini prior to the Guniess Big Eruption Concert. Shatta Wale undeniably is the most hailed Artiste in the country and sharing a stage with his close contender, Samini was a pivotal endeavour; it would lower one and raise the other.

Honestly I did not want to comment on Samini and Shatta Wale brawls again since the insults I received from my previous reportage on them entered my marrows. But after watching their various performances at the Guiness Big Eruption Concert, I had to pick my pen on them again.

All those at the stadium were at two halves; Samini’s or Shatta Wale’s. Big Sean and Wizkid were even given less hail unlike most Foreign Acts have received in the country even though Akon had the fans rooting for him. The truth is, the concert was Guiness Big Eruption and trickle of Shatta Wale or Samini. Fans of the two were on tenterhooks awaiting to compare and contrast performances and get substantial facts from the two performances to buttress their arguments.

On BlackBerry Messenger where most Celebrities, Reporters and Bloggers are loud, there were a lot of personal assessments of Shatta Wale and Samini’s performace; most of them were in favour of Samini. Blatantly, the Guiness Big Eruption Concert was a stage for Samini and Shatta Wale to define excellence and be crowned ‘Dancehall King’ by the audience.

Samini as he is known since his eruption in music is applauded for his stage craft, energy and excellent delivery anytime he faces live audience. His live band performance of 57 minutes delivering highlife, reggae, rap, hip-hop made him outstanding. Even Shatta Wale loyals could not keep mute when songs like Time Bomb, Linda, Sweet Mistake, Where My Baby Dey, Body Flame, Odo, Gyae Shi and Adult Music were performed with live band.

Shatta Wale’s entrance with forklift was a great one. That escalated the expectation of the audience. His miming made Samini an obvious choice for the audience at the Stadium. His usual cursing made him define himself and wore the immaturity apparel. Everyone was disappointed in his choice of words; his fans were not even spared insults. The rants and rave of the audience including his fans were his stinking words he vomited as well as his shout outs to the ‘Sakawa boys’ (fraud boys) among others.

Even those who listened to it live on Joy Fm agreed Samini stinged Shatta Wale at the event. Shatta Wale disappointed his fans at the event. Being the last performer, he had all the chance to sink Samini but he could not reach the height Samini raised the bar to via the live band.

Can I say the Dancehall King has been unanimously given to Samini via his delivery at the Guiness Big Eruption?

Ghanaians in their wisdom have now seen the difference between excellence and mediocrity.

This is an UGLY TRUTH!
