New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu says President Mahama should “pack and leave” the Presidency if he cannot manage the economy.
Speaking on Oman FM, Hon. Ursula bemoaned the government’s inability to combat corruption and also ensure that monies paid as judgment debt are retrieved by the State.
Alluding to the controversial judgment debt involving businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome, and Waterville and ISOFOTON saga, she was of the conviction that President Mahama is not committed to the fight against corruption.
To her, “if the President says he needs more time, then he should pack and leave now” because “he has demonstrated for us to know that even if he’s given his whole lifetime; he will never be able to deal with corruption.”
President Mahama, on Tuesday, implored his critics to exercise patience with his government since the job given him by the nation is “difficult.” He told the critics, who to him are impatient and want to see him out of office, to wait for 2016 when his administration is over.
Addressing Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives at the Local Government Institute in Accra on Tuesday, President Mahama said: “For those who disagree with me and are anxious to see my back, not to worry, 2016 is not too far away. I will urge to be patient and this difficult job; the least one expects is loyalty and comradeship”. |
