Prez. Mahama expresses confidence: Ghanaians will renew my mandate in 2016

images (4)President John Mahama is confident that the mandate given to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to govern the nation, will be renewed in 2016.

Addressing party supporters, who thronged the Wa Airstrip to welcome him to the Upper West Region as part of his nationwide working tour, president Mahama said, the NDC is on course to justifying why it must be retained in office.

“I assure you by 2016 Ghanaians will look at the work we’ve done and say [that] we’ve more than justified the mandate they’ve given us,” the president said.

He further called on the leadership of the NDC in the region to unite and cooperate with each other in order to achieve the party’s set objectives for the people.

“This is the time for us to come together as a party; the people of Ghana have put their mandate in our hands till 2016 to govern this country… we can only do if we are united in purpose and work with a common objective.

“I want us to understand that we belong to one great party and whether you are in office or you are not in office, you are a very precious member of the political party and you can contribute your quota,” president Mahama told party faithfuls.

While in Wa, the president is expected to cut the sod for the commencement of work on the Wa urban water expansion project. He will also inspect on-going works on the construction of a-160-bed capacity hospital in Wa. The facility is expected to be completed and handed over to the government by 2015.
