The meeting between the Ghana Football Association, the sports ministry, and Fifa held in Lome on Monday was purely a proactive measure to be sure of Ghana’s security when they visit the Egyptian capital of Cairo next week, according to Elvis Afriyie Ankrah.
The Youth and Sports Minister was part of the Ghanaian delegation that went to the Togolese capital to finalise security arrangements with world football governing body, Fifa.
Elvis Afriyie Ankrah said despite his confidence in the Black Stars, all stakeholders must be assured of a safe atmosphere for the crucial World Cup playoff.
“We are going to Brazil and no man, born of a woman, can stop us. But at the same time we have to take precautions. We are going into a very volatile territory so we are asking relevant questions.”
Ghana leads the series 6-1 on aggregate ahead of the second lead.
