Effect from 1st Jan 2014: Utility tariffs to go up 9.7 % & 6.80% respectively

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced new tariff figures to hit the country commencing 1st January, 2014 with Electricity increased 9.7% and water 6.80%

PURC has stated that the latest adjustment is as a result of the full implementation of the Automatic Adjustment Formula (AAF) which include price of crude oil on the international market, the cedi-dollar exchange rate, rate of inflation etc.
