The former Phobian has sworn never to return to the Ghana Premier League because it does not favour Ghanaian players who are returning from abroad
Veteran winger Laryea Kingston has vowed never to play for any Ghana club again after a rather frosty relationship with Accra Hearts of Oak.
The former Black Stars ace, who is set to move to US side Phoenix FC, claimed the domestic top flight does not favour returnees.
“I will never in my life again play for any club in Ghana,” Kingston disclosed to Goal Ghana. “I will continue to support Hearts of Oak but I am done with them. Never will I play in Ghana league again.”
He added: “If you consider Brazil they encourage returnees. See Fred, Ronaldinho, Pato, Luis Fabiano and others. That cannot be said of Ghana.
“There is a vast difference comparing America where I will play to Ghana. There I will get my peace of mind to play without disturbances.”
The 33-year-old has featured for clubs including Terek Grozny, Hearts of Middlothian and Vitese Arnhem. He has been capped 41 times for Ghana at senior level scoring six goals.
