Former Black Stars player, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has, in an interview with XYZ Sports, advised young football stars to shun gold diggers and marry women who will stand by them in times of difficulty.
“…You need a good woman”, he advised and warned that gold diggers leave their men in the lurch when the fame and money fade away.
“When that stardom is going down and you are not careful to have a woman who can help you, at the end of the day, they will go against you because it was your money, not for your love that they came for”, he counseled.
The former international football star, said he just discovered that all his three daughters are not his biological children after a paternity test, said “There are so many things that [are] going against footballers that people don’t know”.
According to him, “I’ll say that, especially, the current footballers, the young ones that are coming, they should make sure they get a good lawyer [to] advise them very well before they even get into marriage because it is very important”.
“…If you are not very careful, even half or most of your property will end up going to the woman and then you that suffered [to get those properties], will go bankrupt”, he noted.
He said young football stars must “investigate” the background of their fiancées to ensure that “they are getting a good woman that even tomorrow when the money is not there, the woman will be behind them, not a woman that will come and give them problems”.
Odartey Lamptey has filed for a divorce but the wife wants 50% of his estate.
The couple are in joint business ventures.
