75 foreign trained Doctors demand 13 months unpaid salaries

doctors-ghanaAbout 75 foreign trained doctors are appealing to the Finance Ministry to fast track the processes leading to payment of their salaries.

According to Doctors, for the past 13 months they have not been paid salaries.

One of the doctors who spoke to Citi News on condition of anonymity said life has become unbearable for them due to the lack of finance.

He questioned if government wants them to demonstrate before payments are done saying, “if they want us to go on rampage and withdraw our services so that the patients will suffer, we will do that” adding that efforts to get authorities on board have proven futile.

He mentioned that the matter was reported to the Medical and Dental Council but they were directed to the Ministry of Health to give them the financial clearance they are requesting but no response has been given.
