Black Stars defender Lee Addy has revealed that Ghana’s World Cup Group G opponent Portugal’s danger man Cristiano Rolando could easily be stopped by him if he makes the squad to Brazil 2014.
Ghana will cross swords with Portugal in their last Group G match in Brasilia on 26 June and the talk has been about who can stop the in-form Real Madrid goal machine.
But the 23-year-old Dinamo Zagreb stopper has assured that he can put the breaks to the 2008 World Player of the Year if coach Kwesi Appiah include him in the final Ghana squad to Brazil 2014.
“I can easily stop Cristiano Ronaldo,” Lee Addy said o Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports.
“Ronaldo is not a big deal for me. I will handle him with ease and make him look like he’s not a good player.”
Addy is hoping to return to the Black Stars squad following his run of regular games for Dinamo Zagreb.
The ex-Berekum Chelsea centre back has not been part of the national team since his last call up in the 1-1 draw with China in an international friendly match played last year.
Addy, who has played 27 times for the Black Stars, was part of the Black Stars team that finished finalists and quarter finalists at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup respectively.
