Pastor Drowns Infront Of Congregation As He Tries To Walk On Water Like Jesus

According to All Christian News on Jan. 2, a pastor tried to walk on water like Jesus did. However, he drowned in front of his congregation.

Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, on the West Coast of Africa assured his congregation that he was capable of walking on water like Jesus did. He attempted to reenact what Jesus did as his congregation looked on. He set out to demonstrate that he, too, could walk on water on Gabon’s beach in Libreville. Unfortunately, it cost him his life.

Bible scholars know that in Matthew 14:22-33, Jesus walked on water and when Peter, His disciple, tried to walk on water to go to Jesus, he began to drown and Jesus saved him.

Kabele said that he received a revelation that told him with enough faith he could do what Jesus was able to do.

A report was given by an eyewitness that the pastor took his congregation out to the beach. He told them that he would cross the Kombo estuary by foot, which is normally a 20-minute boat ride. By the second step into the water, Kabele was completely submerged. Sadly, he drowned immediately and never came up.

While this story is indeed sad, it is not the first incident of this nature in Africa. At Ibadon zoo in south-west Nigeria, a self-proclaimed prophet claimed he was able to do what the Daniel did by walking into a den full of lions. The zoo keepers had warned the man numerous times, but he saw them as the enemies of his progress. With a crowd watching, the man put on a red robe and attempted to enter the cage full of lions. Within seconds of opening the door, the lions ripped the man apart.

Hopefully, others will learn lessons from these two incidents and not try to reenact dangerous feats.

While the Bible gives stories about how God saved and protected people, Proverbs is a book in the Bible that outlines wisdom in every area of one’s life.
