A 24-year- old naval recruit, Kwame Kevor Asante, is reported to have drowned in a swimming pool at the Sekondi Naval Base on February 11.
GNA investigations revealed that the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the 37 Military Hospital, pending autopsy.
When the Ghana News Agency contacted the Garrison Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lieutenant Nathaniel Asamoah, in Sekondi for confirmation, he told the GNA that a statement would be issued in Accra concerning the incident.
