El Loco is ready to convince the charismatic young Ghanaian midfielder to stay at the Velodrome by giving him the armband
Marcelo Bielsa, who will take over as Marseille manager, could name Ghana international Andre Ayew as the new captain of the Ligue 1 side to convince him to stay.
According to the newspaper La Provence, Bielsa would rely on young recruits and wants to appoint the Ghanaian to lead the new generation of Marseille players.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian has been on the radar of a host of clubs but the former Bilbao manager feels he has a crucial role to play in his plans next season at the Stade Velodrome.
Ayew captained the Ghana Under-20 side the Black Satellites to win the World Youth Championship in Egypt 2009. He has been instrumental for Marseille this season.
