Didier Drogba attacks Jordan Ayew

imagesFormer Chelsea and Marseille marksman Didier Drogba has launched a verbal attack on Ghana forward Jordan Ayew for his below average performance in the French top flight league.

The Galatasaray attacker has told Sports.fr that the young striker has done little honour to the number  11 shirt, the jersey that earned him (Drogba) so much fame which led to  his move to the Stamford Bridge during his stint at Marseille.

Drogba did not spare Loic Remy, France international, who, according to him, also failed to accord the shirt the deserved honour after inheriting it.

But the Cote d’Ivoire captain praised Senegalese international Mamadou Niang for bringing honour to the shirt at the Stade Velodrome with his spirited performance.

“Loic Remy and Jordan Ayew, who successively inherited the famous Marseille number 11 jersey flopped,” Sports.fr quoted Drogba.

“It was only Mamadou Niang who brought dignity to the number 11 jersey after I left.”

Currently a Sochaux loanee, Ayew has hit the back of the net twice in 10 games.

Meanwhile, Ayew’s father, Abedi Pele, one of the world’s finest footballers, has described what his son is experiencing as normal, as it happens to players at one point or the other.
