We are not seeing any progress; we’re disappointed in Prez. Mahama – Anlo chiefs

get_imgThe chiefs of Anlo State in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region have expressed grave disappointment in the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

According to them, “The ruling government has left the country and our area in an unprecedented hardship which is putting undue pressure on us and our subjects.”

The assertion was made by the Right Wing Chief of the Anlo State, Torgbui Gbodzor III, who spoke on behalf of the overlord, the Awoemefia, Torgbui Sri III and the entire Anlo State during a courtesy call on him by the Volta Regional Minister, Helen Adwoa Ntoso, her deputy, Francis Ganyaglo, the Keta Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Sylvester Tornyiava and other government appointees and top officials of the NDC in the region.

He said, “We are not happy because the situation as it is; is not favourable and as a result our subjects who are feeling the pinch just like majority of Ghanaians are asking about what the government is doing for them.”

Torgbui Gbodzor III described the situation as worrying considering the fact that the government of the day has neglected the region although it is acclaimed as the bastion of the ruling party.

He continued…“We are not seeing any progress. Our citizens are losing hope in the government and we are not happy. The current hardship is unprecedented.”

He, therefore, pleaded with the Minister to use her office to fast track the development agenda of the area and the entire region.

The Regional Minister, who also inspected the 2850 metre Atorkor/Dzita sea defence and 1800 metre beach road, expressed gratitude to the chiefs for their bluntness about the current state of their region and promised that the government would do its best to fulfill all its promises that it made to the region.

She called on the chiefs and people of the Anlo State and the entire region to join hands together in order to move the nation ahead.
