West Ham targets Gyan

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has emphasised that he is not in a rush to leave Al Ain in the Gulf Region, despite being linked with West Ham among other clubs.

The ‘Baby Jet’ has been the fulcrum of the UAE side since joining them in 2011 from English Premier League outfit Sunderland.

He has been the top scorer in the last two seasons and currently leads the goal scorers’ chart.

“No am not in any rush to leave Al Ain because they have been very good to me and have given me a great platform to showcase what I can do as a footballer,” the 28-year-old told the press.

“It’s very good to know that what I am doing here has attracted interests from some European clubs, but I don’t have any immediate plans of returning to Europe just yet.”

Gyan added: “Every club has a great player or a legend that helped them in the past. For me I feel this is where I belong in terms of being a legend.

“What else can a player ask for? I am getting regular playing time, the money is good (laughs) and the coaches, players and fans love me. It’s a very great feeling here.”
