29-year-old Sulley Muntari says camp unity is Black Stars’ weapon

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has said the cordial relationship that exists between young and experienced players of the Black Stars has been the weapon behind the team’s success.

The four-time African champions have been qualifying for almost every major tournament in recent years, despite their failure to lift a trophy.

The AC Milan player, who is hopeful of making a third successive World Cup appearance for Ghana, believes team harmony will help the Black Stars go far at the Mundial although they find themselves in a tough group made up of Germany, US and Portugal.

“The unity in camp always binds us together and that is what keeps us going. We are like a bundle of sticks tied together which cannot be broken,” the former Inter ace told TV3.

Muntari, 29, is optimistic of making coach Kwesi Appiah’s final squad for the global football festival to be staged in Brazil next month.
