The NPP has however boycotted the ‘National Economic Forum’ being put together by the government.
The four-day forum, starting Tuesday, May 13, 2014, according to a statement issued by government, is aimed at achieving consensus on policies, strategies and measures that are, required to accelerate Ghana’s transition from a lower middle income nation to an upper middle income economy with sustainable path of development that guarantees improvements in the quality of life for all Ghanaians.
Government, the private sector and cross section of the Ghanaian public are expected to profess plans necessary to address defects in the economy.
However, the NDC legislator, Alban Sumana Bagbin posted on his Facebook wall seeking views as to whether such a forum is needed.
“Do we really need an economic forum? What do you think and why? ” he quizzed.
