I saw T.B. Joshua in my dream not knowing he was not the one – Ayittey Powers shifts blame for defeat

ayitey-powersOverpowered Cruiserweight boxer Ayitey Powers has attributed his defeat by loud-mouth Bukom Banku to disobedience of his Godfather TB Joshua.

Powers claimed he acted contrary to the divine instructions he received from the Nigerian televangelist regarding the fight.

He revealed that the man of God instructed him to wait until he (TB) gives him the green-light after he had earlier cautioned him not to fight on April 16.

“I didn’t want to fight him until I hear from my Godfather, but I was forced to fight because I realized Ghanaians wanted to see the fight, and I didn’t want to disappoint them.

TB Joshua

“TB Joshua told me to wait until he gives me the go ahead, after asking me not to fight in April, but I didn’t listen. I was waiting until I heard he had travelled to China. I saw him in a dream, not knowing he was not the one.

“My wife also told me not to fight but I declined. I could have stopped him but for the difference in our weights. You know Banku couldn’t make the weight.

“I have to fight this boy again, I want a re-match,” Powers said on Asempa FM.

The fight, which attracted close to 20,000 spectators to the Accra Stadium, suffered two postponements.

Powers travelled the distance with Bukom Banku but lost after the three judges scored the bout 117-109,  119-100 and 120-108.
