Former President John Kufuor has said, the death of the late Paul Victor Obeng is shocking and unexpected.
He noted that “there wasn’t any suggestion at all that he wasn’t well but that is the mystery of the whole thing.”
The ex-President in a media interview described the senior advisor to the President as “a naturally intelligent person, quite sociable.”
He revealed that although he did not agree with Mr. Obeng’s kind of politics, “that didn’t stop the two of us from relating in civility. We related quite well but it’s shocking.”
“In party politics, you agree to disagree. That is the way to do it in a healthy way,” he added.
President John Mahama’s senior advisor, PV Obeng died on Saturday from a suspected asthma attack.
Aside being the senior presidential advisor, Mr. Obeng chaired the National Development Planning Commission.
His remains have been deposited at the 37 Military Hospital.
