A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Alan K. Kyerematen has finally picked his nomination forms at the Party’s headquarters to contest the flagbearership position.
This will be the third time the NPP kingpin is contesting for the same position.
Prior to this, there were rumours that he was no longer going to contest however, his action today will somewhat put to rest those speculations.
The Former Trade and Industry Minister in the erstwhile John Agyekum Kufuor administration arrived at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday morning amidst singing and praises from his supporters.
According to Peace FM’s Yaw Obeng Manu, Alan K after going through the various processes in picking the nomination form, called for unity among party members and promised to run a fair and clean campaign.
“I have had the privilege and honour to serve our great party…if it’s God’s will that I become the next flagbearer, I will work with you to build a strong, united, stable and financially viable and stable party,” Mr Kyeremanten told the media.
So far, seven aspirants have picked up their nomination forms. They are: Mr. Joe Ghartey, Francis Addai Nimoh, Asamoah Boateng, Osei Ameyaw, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Nana Akufo-Addo and now Alan Kyerematen.
