Arguably Ghana’s best Rapper Sarkodie has won the rap/hip hop award for The 13th Independent Music Awards (The IMAs), the influential awards program for independent artists and fans.


Contending with Kidd Clazzic – Sandys, Bermuda, Kreed N Deed – OK, USA, Sweatshop Union – BC, Canada and Tuan X feat. Anna – NY, USA, Sarkodie towered with the most controversial song ‘Illuminati’.

As the winner of the category, Sarkodie would benefit active promotions, distribution and performance opportunities that will place him in front of nearly 1 billion music fans.


The Independent Music Awards celebrates Artistes who follow their own muse from six continents.
