Full list of reshuffle: Information Minister posted to Sports Ministry and more

PRESIDENT MAHAMA STANDPresident John Dramani Mahama has reassigned Information Minister, Mahama Ayariga as the new Minister for Youth and Sports.

He replaces Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah who moves to the Presidency as a Minister of State. This was contained in a press statement from the Presidency Saturday.

The new directive is coming a few days after the Black Stars were eliminated from the 2014 FIFA World Cup which is ongoing in Brazil. The Black Stars lost two matches and drew one at the tournament.

Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Joseph Yammin has also been reassigned to the Ashanti Region to take over from Joseph Alexander Ackon as Deputy Ashanti regional Minister. Joseph Alexander Ackon has been reassigned to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection as the second Deputy Minister.

The statement also said Deputy Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, will replace Joseph Yammin as Deputy Minister.

Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, a Minister of State at the Presidency, has been reassigned as Minister for Food and Agriculture.

The President said the new appointments are “part of ongoing changes in his administration.”
