The writ at the High Court challenging the composition of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Council was masterminded by the party’s National Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko.
According to a very reliable source, Mr. Afoko contacted one Mr. David Hoezame, former constituency chair, Central Tongu- Volta Region to sue the party.
Mr. Afoko is against the current composition of the National Council of the party and wants new members to be elected.
Though this proposal was rejected at the last sitting of the council, the General Secretary wrote a memo to the regions requesting elections, but was vehemently refused by the various regional
executives.
Checks at the Judicial Secretariat reveal that, Mr. David Hoezame’s writ was issued around 1:30pm Wednesday.
However, text messages that were sent out to the Council Members to postpone ‘indefinitely’ the meeting on Thursday was issued at mid-morning.
Background checks also reveals that Mr. David Hoezame, former constituency chair, Central Tongu- Volta Region is under investigations for registering a party car in his name.
The JMC pickup, with registration number GN 6025 Z, was given to him during his tenure of office.
