GFA Executive Committee member George Afriyie has described AC Milan star Sulley Muntari’s unruly behaviour towards Moses Armah ‘Parker’ as animalistic.
The GFA member revealed that the Black Stars midfielder slapped the Medeama president in the face twice, unprovoked.
He said all attempts to restrain him by other Management Members including Felix Ansong, who ‘raised’ him (Muntari) proved unsuccessful.
Recounting what really happened, he said Muntari physically assaulted Parker even before the latter could utter a word, in a meeting.
“Sulley retorted before Parker opened his mouth, “who are you? Don’t talk”, and followed it with the slaps,” said Mr. Afriyie.
“Have you seen a spiritually possessed person before? That was exactly how Sulley behaved. He was like an animal. What I witnessed was not an act of a human being.
“He slapped Parker two times unprovoked. He acted as if he had an outstanding fracas with Parker. Dada Ansong attempted to restrain him but he pushed him aside, and did the slapping.
“The fact that you play for AC Milan and you are rich does not give you the permission to disrespect the elderly. I can’t do that. If I meet Nana Butler, Alhaji Jawula, Ben Kwuofi or any of the past FA bosses on a flight and I am in a business class, I will willingly vacate my seat for them.
“I asked him if he could slap Dada Ansong in the face. I think we have pampered the players for far too long,” he said on Asempa FM yesterday.
He rubbished rumours that the FA officials enjoyed business class seats while the players were crammed up in the economy class.
“What actually happened was that the players themselves requested we go for a chartered flight from Miami instead of the scheduled flight provided by FIFA.
“We obliged but because of the limited seats in the hired flight we told the players to suggest names of the seniors who want to enjoy the business class.
“Among the lot, it was only Michael and Sulley who were in the business class. Michael later joined his colleagues in the economy class.
“It is not true that the officials denied the players any comfort on the flight,” he added.
