Read it all: US Embassy apologizes for disrespecting Prez. Mahama on Twitter

The United States embassy in Ghana has issued an apology to President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana over what it describes as “errant tweets” posted via its official Twitter account to President Mahama’s official Twitter account.

This was contained in a series of tweets released on the official twitter account of the US Embassy in Ghana (@USEmbassyGhana), Friday evening.

Earlier tweet posted

According to the embassy, “the earlier errant tweet was a private message mistakenly sent out on our account. The views expressed in no way reflect the views of the United States Government or the U.S. Embassy.”

The embassy further stated that steps have been taken “to ensure that all of our employees fully understand their responsibility toward carefully managing our public outreach through social media.”
