A POLITICAL SCIENCE lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi has called for the dismissal of the Deputy Education Minister, Okudzeto Ablakwa, from the government.
Dr Richard Amoako Baah said that Mahama Ayariga, the newly-appointed Youth and Sports Minister, should also be kicked out from the current administration with immediate effect.
He was of the view that the two young politicians are fond of peddling lies and so do not merit occupying ministerial positions.
Dr Amoako Baah said ministerial position is a respectable position in the society, therefore people who frown on lies should be appointed as ministers and not people who go about meddling in propaganda.
Governance, he said on Kessben FM, is far above propaganda, and therefore, he was expecting the President to replace Messrs Okudjeto and Ayariga with people that would face issues as it is.
The KNUST lecturer was not pleased with President Mahama’s decision to distribute 13 four-wheel pick-up vehicles to the National House of Chiefs at a time that majority of the citizenry are facing harsh economic conditions.
He said the timing for the presentation of the cars was wrong, insisting that the President should invest State funds in critical areas that need help such as water, health, education and roads.
Considering the myriad problems facing the larger section of the population, Dr Amoako Baah said the President’s presentation of the cars to the chiefs was a misplaced priority.
He expressed gross concern about the economic difficulties facing the people, noting that government must implement mechanisms to rectify the economic woes of the masses.
