It has been revealed that, most contemporary relationships are products of domestic violence. Women who are mostly the victims of domestic violence in relationships are often silent about it and continue to receive the harassment that such despondent relationships come with.
Made up of Okyerekyereni Makorni (Richard Nartey) and Okyerekyereni Sparkles (Ranford Saltson), Akyerekyerefo which literally means Teachers have cautioned victims of domestic violence not to think twice about any relationship with fringe benefit of domestic violence. According to them “wise up and leave” if all a partner does is to swell your pretty face.
“You deserve better than that, so you have to let go. Don’t wear make-up on the face to hide the pain” Akuerekyerefo directly speak to ladies. In their own words, “the best way to avoid the pain is to end the relationship.”
Asking them if they have witnessed domestic violence personally, Akyerekyerefo revealed that, just as their brand stands for, they address social issues and ills of society. “Even though we have heard from female friends who have been victims of such abuses in their relationships, we are speaking and advising the general populace not to continue relationships of such nature.” Akyerekyerefo said.
