A group of Ghanaians living in the United State of America are planning to stage a demonstration over the state of the economy when President John Dramani Mahama arrives in the country for the US-Africa Leaders Summit.
According to the concerned Ghanaians in the US the demonstration is intended to express the concerns Ghanaians who live abroad.
‘’… the demonstration is to show our [Ghanaians abroad] expression of unhappiness about the hardship in Ghana and the mismanagement of the country,’’ One of the organizers of the protest, Kwaku Ofori told Citi News.
He further mentioned that demonstration will take place at the US state department.
He added that they are expecting people from Canada and all other states in the US.
President Mahama and his wife, Lordina Mahama are expected in the US later Friday for the Summit.
There have a number of demonstrations in Ghana over the current state of the economy. The recent protest was staged by organized labour.
Protestors asked government to end the decline of the economy, improve living conditions and fight corruption.
