5 weeks and still counting; Castro and his female friend, Janet Bandu are missing and there have been no trace of their where about after they went jolly skiing on the Volta River. Even though fans and nonfans alike are despondent of the situation, the marine police have assured Ghanaians that they are still searching for them.
A movie poster which has the title ‘Castro Amenehunu Part 1 and 2’ surfaced on the internet last week and Showbiz critics bashed Samuel Odame, the Producer of the movie for such “stupidity.’ Even though there is nothing wrong with chronicling the life of a legend like Theophilous Tagoe aka Castro in a movie, but that should not be when the details of his mysterious disappearance are unknown. This is the main reason why the producer was held by his balls by critics.
In Western Region particularly Takoradi where Castro hails from, the state of music is lifeless since ‘the face/voice of Tadi music,’ Castro mysteriously disappeared. According to findings by www.233times.net , anytime Castro’s song is aired, people switch to sad moods as the tragedy pokes them.
On ‘OC Showbiz Review’ (Western and Central Region’s biggest Entertainment Show) on Skyy Power FM 93.5, last Saturday, the discussion of the movie ‘Castro Amenehunu part 1 and 2’ got callers furious. Callers were very mad at the Producer of the movie and labelled him as someone who lacks creativity and not smart. They virtually cursed him for such endeavor and advised listeners of the show not to purchase the movie when it is out. Dr. Asanka of Aseda FM, Omanbapa Kofi of Skyy Power FM and Nana Kwesi Coomson of www.233times.net, pundits on the show were not happy with the Producer as they spoke their hearts out.
Of course it makes sense emotionally to understand the people of Takoradi who are angrily reacting to such a baseless movie but on a more discerning note, what details will such a movie have when the details of the disappearance of Castro and Janet are yet to be known?
