The United Cadres Front of the governing National Democratic Congress(NDC) says former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings stands a big chance of leading the party to victory in the 2016 elections should she return to their fold.
The former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings left the National Democratic Congress(NDC) to form the National Democratic Party(NDP) after she challenged and lost the contest for the presidential ticket to late President John Evan Atta Mills in 2011.
She cited the lack of transparency and the soaring levels of corruption as some of the reasons for leaving National Democratic Congress to form the National Democratic Party.
Recent newspaper reports suggested that she was returning to the National Democratic Congress.
She has since refuted those claims insisting they were false and sheer propaganda.
However, in an interview with Citi News, the General Secretary of the Cadre Front, Efanam Nyarku revealed that, Mrs. Rawlings stands a good chance in the upcoming primaries, but it will depend on how she markets herself for the upcoming primaries.
He added that; “Her experience from 1982 until now makes her stand tall, if you remember she was vibrant in the party where she mobilized the women and even in the administrative structure of the NDC.”
