The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has accused government of experimenting with Ghana’s economy.
According to the party, government has shown over the months it has no pragmatic solutions in dealing with the difficulties the economy is facing.
The party blamed the Mahama-led administration for rather engaging in needless talk shops.
This comes on the back of a meeting on Thursday by the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Economy implement the Senchi Consensus.
The committee is also to evaluate strategic policy decisions needed to support the targets and objectives of government’s programme as presented to Parliament.
The PPP’s Director of Operations, Nana Owusu Ofori is of the opinion that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has failed to live up to expectation.
According to him, the current state of affairs in Ghana and the inability of the government to turn the economy around is proof that “they are unable to get a handle on the economy.”
Mr. Ofori believes the activities of the committee will not make any meaningful impact.
“So now this committee is going to take us out of this condition? We don’t think so,” he angrily said.
He noted that the solutions are already known and the setting up of a committee is not the answer.
The PPP Director of Operations warned government to sit up because the masses were burdened with hardships.
