Ghana Football Association sources indicate that the Stars’ stop-gap coach, Maxwell Konadu, has recalled the Stomgodset skipper after reconciling him and the team’s goalkeepers’ trainer, Nassamu Yakubu, whose competence the Norway-based goalie called into question after Ghana’s disappointing World Cup campaign.
Kwarasey’s criticism of Yakubu and a threat not to honour future national call-ups if the goalkeepers’ trainer remained at post resulted in his being sidelined by the former coach, Kwasi Appiah, in Ghana’s qualifiers against Uganda and Togo this month.
Kwarasey, 26, has been in top shape for his Norwegian side, which is currently third on the Eliteserien table.
His expected return will increase competition for the the No. 1 position, which has been shared in recent times between Fatau Dauda and local-based Stephen Adams.
