Augustin Dennis steals show at Comedy Bar

AugustinSekondi-Takoradi based professional comedian Augustin Dennis, was the toast of fans at the 3rd Comedy Bar Show organized over the weekend. A regular at the event, he delivered what he’s known to do best with his intelligently crafted observational comedy. Augustin had huge laughs and claps from patrons with the biggest response coming through when he delivered an act on Local news reading in Ghana, which gave him a standing ovation from the audience.

It must be noted that Augustin Dennis is not new to comedy as he has done this for four years doing shows in the past in Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Hong Kong and Kualur Lumpur with notable Comedians from Asia, Europe and America.

On the day, main act comedians who performed included, Khemikal, Augustin Dennis, Forster, DKB, and the only female performer Jacintha. DKB as usual gave a great performance thus living up to billing as the comedian of the moment.

The event which is a the brain child of comedian James Brown, which took place over the weekend on Saturday 30th August 2014 in Accra at the Silver Lounge, Accra Mall was fully packed to capacity leaving more patrons standing outside the gates.
With the show getting to its peak in just 3 months, it’s about time the organizers turned to a new bigger venue to accommodate the growing patronage of the Comedy Bar.

Comedy Bar is a comedy club show that gives amateurs the opportunity to gain experience and show what they have got and professionals an opportunity to polish their acts or try new materials.

The positives from this month’s Comedy Bar is that all main acts of the night have had their turns to try out new materials and add more punch lines to their acts, putting them on form for the Corporate Comedy Series to be staged in Takoradi at the Atlantic Hotel on the 12th of September 2014. It will not be surprising if Augustin Dennis and DKB highlight the show in Takoradi as already known within the public domain that DKB had the greatest positive review from the ‘1018 Laughs’.
